In the 2005 NFL Draft, TV cameras would be fixed on QB Aaron Rodgers—who was projected to be a top pick, possibly even #1 overall—sitting in the green room as he tumbled all the way down to the Packers at #24. At one point during the pre-draft process, someone in the 49ers organization told him he would be their pick. They went with QB Alex Smith instead. Smith would have a decent-to-good NFL career, but Rodgers would go on to win a championship, multiple MVPs, and a likely Hall of Fame career.
