🔥[01-13] Focusing on connection to build that one strong advocate

  • Follow up confidently after the holidays when enough time has passed and the new year has settled.
  • Add a tiny piece of genuine value to the one facilitating the connection then shift the tone from asking for a favor to thanking them for the offer they already made. 
  • Remind them also of the value that you can bring to the other person.
  • Use a full court press by reaching multiple inboxes at the same time for a higher likelihood of getting somebody's attention and increased perceived importance.
  • Make your cold outreach shorter and lead with value of  why the story or project compelled you.
  • Focus the first message on the connection to have that one advocate, then dig deep on your story once you’re connected to the right person.
