In this episode, we’re figuring out how to thrive within a male-dominated industry. Kim Ziegner is nothing short of amazing! Kim owns her family business Eastown Barbershop in London, Ontario. She took over the shop when her uncle, Dieter, became ill. At the time, she had zero barbering abilities. She had to teach herself everything! She sought guidance and education from others in the industry but for the most part she just winged it. Over the course of her career, she’s guest barbered in Amsterdam to all over Ontario, has taught in Kelowna and is a “scumbassador” for men’s grooming brand, Reuzel. Kim highlights how she transitioned into the barbering, how she dealt with adverse reactions for being a female within a male dominated industry and how she prepares for opening a new barbershop.
