We are children of the Supreme Creator, God. This makes obeying human law and rules, exceedingly difficult. The most glaring question this invokes is, what of man’s law do I obey without breaking God’s Law, when I obey man’s law?! This Romans passage is telling us to obey man’s law because those in governance and enforcement of it are set in place by God Himself! How does that work?! This is why Barnes’ New Testament Notes Commentary said, “…a subject which is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, and at the same time EXCEEDINGLY DIFFICULT.”.
