The bigger the ship, the slower it turns!
In order to see successful transition and change in your worship style, you will need:
1. Understanding
a. Know your pastor's heart
b. Know the people
1a. Who you are ministering alongside
1b. Know the congregation
c. Allow the Pastor & the people to know you!
2. Focus
a. Focus on God - Worship should be the most unifying aspect of the church but if not done correctly, it can be the most divisive! Keep prayer at the top of the list
b. Focus on the goal - If you seek change, for change's sake; it will be a bumpy ride. Understand the "why". Socially, culturally, biblically, mission, etc. If you have a clear picture of why, then the what will be easy.
3. Energy - It will potentially a lot more energy that what you planned or thought it would. Be willing to count the cost.
a. Take time to decompress
b. Hobbies, time with family, Workout, etc.
c. Remind yourself that this is going to be worth the effort.
Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
4. Determination - You may get tired but….
a. Not everyone will "get it" - They may not understand you or the need to change.
b. They might not always respond the way you would like them to towards you.
c. Always put people ahead of the process
