The Fresh Tortilla Chips & Homemade Salsa Episode

This week we take on a favorite; fresh tortilla chips with two homemade salsas done right. We are giving you a traditional red and a green salsa. The red salsa has a smokey tomato flavor and the other has a some brightness from the tomatillos. We say, try both recipes. We take some time to discuss jalapeno food safety and controlling spice levels. We use recipes from GimmeSomeOven, Tyler Florence and Savory Experiments. You will never be the same after you have homemade chips and salsa in your own kitchen.
Michael reminisces about going out for TexMex in Atlanta. We discuss Joey Chestnut and his Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest Record (and the dreaded interview), Taco Bell’s wedding accessories and how Starbucks is catching onto drink scammers.
We answer a questions about cooking Chicken Parm for date night and suggest a simple arugula salad, and we discuss which country rightfully owns chicken parm with some thoughts on pasta.
