However, Rob has a passionate interest in the birds of the small islands of the Pacific Ocean, many clinging to existence. He tells us about the Palau Megapode, one of the unusual mound-making birds, who incubate their eggs in piles of leaf litter, scraped into sizeable heaps, and carefully tended by the parents.
