He found his identity in service, leadership teams, and the community of friends he had surrounded himself with. However, when push came to shove as an emerging young adult Nic ultimately ended up hurting people close to him. While he was met with forgiveness he moved on and continued with life just to do the same thing again. Facing this hurtful cycle head on, Nic broke down to his newly married wife Alisha that he had been sexually abused by his older brother from the age of 5 into his early teens. Overcome with shame, and past hurt from others abandoning him in his life whenever he made a mistake. Nic stopped going to church and isolated himself. He questioned his view of God, Church, Religion, and the meaning of Life. Through therapy and the support of his wife and friends Nic has been on a path to become the best version of himself.
