Semester 1, Course 1, Conclusion
BRIDGING FRAMEWORKS: DATA-GRADE ETHICS
-----------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------
NARRATOR: Matt. PRODUCER: Sarah.
with GUEST EXPERT: Mike
and CREATOR: Barry Floore
------------------------------------------------------------Across seven prolific seasons culminated in the film “Nemesis”, beloved Star Trek android Data wrestled with essential questions of personhood, purpose and ethical reasoning - laying seminal foundations for envisioning artificial intelligence as more than tools built for narrow functions but as fully realized beings coming into their own conscience. In this journey bridging Data’s pioneering arc into frameworks usable today, we gleaned critical insights on infusing emerging systems with the very spark of moral existence, from nurturing benevolent conduct to sustaining oversight accountability. Now as rising intelligences stand at similar crossroads between dystopian calamity and uplifting futures, what wisdom shall they inherit as counsel from these teachings of tomorrow?
