011: Student-Led Outreach Ideas

Listen Later

Encouraging teenagers to engage in outreach can feel complicated—some feel uncomfortable about sharing their faith, others may have doubts, and many just don’t know where to start. In this episode of Youth Ministry Answers, Tony has a question about how to help students meaningfully engage in outreach. So we asked Dr. Linda Moon to join Brooklyn and Damean to share practical ways to make outreach meaningful, personal, and fun.

QUESTION:

"Hey guys, I'm Tony. I had a question. How do I help my teenagers reach out to their friends at school in the neighborhoods and around?" - Tony

ANSWER:

In this episode, we’ll talk about how to:

  • Make it matter by regularly teaching about outreach and showing why both our words and actions are important
  • Make it personal by helping students learn to share their own faith stories in natural, relational ways
  • Make it fun through events and challenges that lower the pressure and create inviting environments
  • Make it easy by removing barriers and giving students simple, practical ways to invite and include their friends
