#011: When you believe, …. everything is feasible

During this episode, Karim talks about the power of belief, and how any end result depends always on what belief we hold about our self and about the desired outcome.

Hey what’s up everybody, this is Karim Amri. Welcome to Coaching Secrets Podcast
Today we’re gonna talk about the belief .
When it comes to belief, Henri Ford Put it in the simplest way “ Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right”
I‘m gonna start today with a story that I’ve read in one of Dr Bruce Lipton Books, the biology of belief. The story is about an experience that was made by Dr. Bruce Moseley, to check which part of the knee surgery is giving his patients relief.
So Dr Moseley divided his patients into 3 groups, for each group he did a different process:
Group 1: Moseley shaved the damaged cartilage in the knee of the patients
Group 2: The doctor flushed out the knee joint, removing material thought to be causing inflammatory effect
Group 3: got a “Fake” surgery. The patients were seated, Moseley made three standard incisions and then talked and acted just as he would have during a real surgery
After Surgery, the groups were prescribed the same postoperative care, which included an exercise program.
The results were unexpected, the 3rd group who practically had no surgery, improved as much as the 2 first groups, the experience were shared in TV news programs, with graphics to share the stunning results.One of the 3rd group patients who had to use cane before the surgery, started playing basketball again with his grandchildren, he shared with the discovery health channel “In this world, anything is possible, when you put your mind to it. I know that your mind can work miracles.”
Consider that a belief is an attitude that something is the case, or that some propositions about the world are true. Most of those beliefs, are embedded in our subconscious mind, they are the result of old programs, or old experiences stored in our subconscious mind and linked to a high level of emotions.
We always listen to things like:
This does’t work for me
I’m not good enough
I’ll never succeed in that challenge
Money is not good
Happiness is fake
All rich people are behaving badly
Leadership doesn’t work in our organization
Marketing doesn’t work for my business
If I’m gonna list what I’ve already listened to before, I need hours.
The idea, is that one of the most handicaps blocking people from reaching the life they dreamt of , is their wrong beliefs about themselves.
In most of the cases they lack awareness that the reason behind their failure is their belief that they are not good enough to succeed. May be this is what they parents kept on telling them during their childhood, maybe they were the words of a teacher who hurt them,it can be any cause that they may consciously forget but it’s there well established in their subconscious mind and affecting any step or decision they took in their life.
As coaches, identifying these beliefs is essential, to work on them first with the partner, and find ways to overcome them, before moving forward in the process towards the desired goal to achieve.
If we don’t believe in our capability in achieve something, even the best plan, the best coach or the best mentor can’t help us achieve our dream, until we believe.
