This week on the podcast, I break down Bruce Springsteen's book Born To Run. Part 1 looks at Bruce's formative years and how the aesethic of his hometown Freehold, New Jersey, and the Irish and Italian family influences shaped him into a young, thirsty guitar beating American. He also dives into his first experiences with popular music, from Ed Sullivan, to Elvis, to The Beatles. I love this book because it is a first hand account from Bruce, written in more mature years over an 8 year span.
