Piroska and Flora Gellert were sisters who left their native Hungary to find opportunity in 1920s America.  Arriving in New York city they became Nita and Zita. Their talent as performers and burlesque dancers brought them around the world. It was their unique approach to crafting their own costumes and eventually their home in New Orleans that would inspire others for years to come.
