Certain principles apply to all forms of prayer. In this section we will consider some general principles that are to be applied in our fellowship and partnership with God.

1. Prayer should generally be directed to the Father.

Fellowship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit are a part of prayer, but essentially our requests and petitions are to be presented to the Father Himself. “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven” (Matthew 6:9)

Our father is more willing to answer, then we are to ask. Come boldly to the throne of grace.
