In this episode Julie talks about being labelled a “problem” child, how our childhood experiences show up in our businesses as entrepreneurs, breaking the family poverty cycle and why it's important for her to have something other than just being a mum.
“I think growing up it wasn't just, I felt unheard. But it was like a two way thing. I didn't understand where, where my mum was coming from because she never spoke to us on an emotional level. So she had all this turmoil going on and she was like a brick wall. You know, she was putting on a happy face for us all, even though we could see what was happening, but we just didn't understand it. So we never had a conversation about their divorce. We never had a conversation about her cancer. And so. We could've coped with it a lot better. If we had a little bit more information to work with instead, we were just guessing all the time.”
