Apple Swift is now open source to allow for programmers and developers in some of Apple's Enterprise partnerships to develop frontward facing apps that use Swift, that will ultimately report back to servers which use Swift as well. Apple has announced Swift is slated to be the backbone of Apple development for the next few decades.
Google blew us away with the advent of Google Cardboard, a simple and cheap setup to use your android phone to play Virtual Reality videos and view them in VR. Now they have topped themselves by creating an Android app to actually shoot VR video...the future is looking quite good for VR.
