How do I best describe my time with this truly dedicated and passionate artist?
Well if I had to use just one word...UNIQUE! Lori is as a unique person as you will ever meet with such a sweet disposition and passionate caring attitude to all who grace her presence. And don't get me started on "how giving" any person can be as Lori welcomes me back to a nothing short of a vibrant Art Scene centered at the Front Street Collaborative.
DAYTON ART SCENE
Not exactly sure how they call it down there, but as far as this IMGN Host/Artist/Fitness Guy knows firsthand FRONT STREET is a wonderful place to visit and I'm assured that only wonderful experiences capable. Never have I ever been more welcomed back to my hometown and simultaneously anxious to experience all that the Dayton Artist Community has to offer. I want to shout out a big thank you to all the artists I have met to date. A dedicated supportive group of talented individuals which only await to shower Dayton residents with options for gifts of visual beauty and engaging works sure to compliment any home or be gifted for that special someone. Lori Daugherty, an abstract artist based in Dayton, thrives on exploring and experimenting with the encaustic medium. She is captivated by the depth, texture, and mysterious qualities that encaustic art offers.
Lori’s studio, "Darty Art," is located in the historic Front Street Buildings in downtown Dayton. Armed with an array of torches, hot plates, and air compressors, Lori skillfully layers color with encaustic wax paints, inks, and shellac. Her goal is to lead viewers on an enchanting journey, inviting them to engage with the painting’s path by embracing its lines, shapes, colors, and textures.
