As an international corporate security manager I had my share of traveler incidents. The good thing was that along with the traveler's insurance we had processes and plans in place to take care of anything that might happen. I've seen sprained ankles, appendicitis, suicides, acute kidney failure, anaphylactic shock and even a shooting victim while I managed three to six thousand travelers all over the world at any given day.

The recent deaths in the Dominican Republic are what the media is focusing on right now but these sort of events happen all over the World, every day. [NEWS LINK] As responsible individuals we need to plan our vacation, business trip, or holiday considering the possibility of a medical emergency in mind.
