This week I welcome Julie Tassy, founder of family-run business Ella B. Candles.  Ella B. Candles are all hand-poured, 100% soy, and make great gifts. They've got inspirational messaging which can be customized to show off where you're from as well. Julie and Ella B. are committed to empowering small businesses and they're also doing their best to keep it local. I was so touched by the heart Julie has and the way she communicates about her brand.  I was honored when she agreed to come on the show. In this episode, we explore passion and how it helps transcend our business and products. Putting your heart into your work is hugely important, but having a passion for people, making an impact, is equally, if not more important.  We talk about purpose, and what the driving factor, her family, was for starting Ella B. Candles. And we look at failing and how it doesn’t have to mean you quit. Instead, you just start something new and keep going. 

One of the key takeaways from our talk was that by surrounding yourself with community or those who you feel comfortable with, things are not quite as scary as they seem. This is especially true for a family run business like Ella B. Candles. Your tree of life can be complete with ups and downs, like Julie’s, but you can still be really open if those around you provide the ability to be a safe place for you. If you're willing to be this open, then others will be open with you too.
