Edison Agbandje is a community teacher and founder of Ancestral Essence, a group he created as a result of a 20-year journey through various spiritual disciplines. Believing the scientific depth and understanding of indigenous religions hadn’t been given due credit, the group was founded to inform on how detailed and beautiful these traditions are. Edison’s 20 year journey has lead him to study many contemporary faiths such as the Nation of Islam and the Nuwaubians, to western magic and tarot. In 1992 he eventually met his first teacher, a Nigerian Babalawo who introduced him to IFA (the West African tradition), where he was taught how to connect to his Ancestors, and how to access the powers of Orisha. Edison is also founder of the “Know Thy Self “ ancestral connection classes where he teaches practical ways to connect, hear and work with the ancestors to cleanse the mind.
