#018: The Whole30 and Disordered Eating

Listen Later

THE WHOLE30.

The program claims it's not a diet. It clearly states that it's not all about weight loss. It says it'll change your life for the better. But will it?

Or is the Whole30 just another diet and weight loss program masked by healthism, promised benefits, and a squeaky-clean Paleo eating plan? Today on the podcast, Holly & Hannah get deep into talking about why the Whole30 is in fact a diet, almond butter binges, how the program may trigger people to have restrictive eating tendencies, and the story of how Whole30 initiated a few years' worth of disordered thoughts and habits in Hannah's own life.

Question answered:

I have a coworker who made a comment yesterday that unnerved me. She said, "I really want a hamburger. I'm feeling so ~bad~." (I'm guessing because she truly thought this). Do you have any guidance on ways to respond to these types of comments when friends bring up food being "good" or "bad"?
