Topic: Stamina For the Christian Journey (Jeremiah 12:5, Prov. 24:10)
1. Stamina is the ability to be sustained physically or spiritually for a prolong activity.
2. It is the energy and the strength for continually doing something for a long period of time.
3. Stamina is a staying power.
4. It is the wind that powers our spiritual sailing.
5. It is the fuel for the acceleration of our Christian life.
Why do we need Stamina
1. Christianity is hard. (1 Kings 19:7).
2. Christianity is about suffering. (Philippians 1:29)
How to build up our stamina (Isaiah 40:28-30)
1. Depend on God.
2. Boost up your engine to receive more God .
3.Build up your stamina through prayer and fasting.
4. Removing unnecessary weight in your boat.
5. Having spiritual endurance through training by fellowship and constantly studying the word of God.
Things that mitigate against our stamina
1. The Flesh - Galatians 5:17, 1 John 2:15-17.
2. Complacency- 2 Timothy 4:6-8
