The Lemonade Podcast

02. Tayla Clement on self acceptance, positivity and turning her differences into her superpower

Listen Later

In episode 2 of Lemonade, ex-Paralympic athlete, world record holder, model and speaker Tayla Clement shares her story of being born with a rare neurological condition known as moebius syndrome. Growing up, Tayla was bullied relentlessly, and suffered from severe post-traumatic stress symptoms as a result of her trauma that left her feeling suicidal.

In this gorgeous conversation, Tayla speaks candidly about her experiences, and about how she overcame suicidal ideation to live a life full of purpose and gratitude. She talks me through her process of cultivating positive habits, and how she harnessed her differences for the better.

Trigger warning: we discuss sexual assault and suicidal ideation in this episode. If you're based in the UK and in need of support, please check out Mind charity's support resources here.
