You have the power to create the world you want to live in, both on social media and in person. On today’s episode, I am joined by Kristina Werner, a graphic designer and YouTuber who has a passion for all things crafting. We discuss the growth she’s had with her YouTube channel, what she does when she lacks motivation for creating a video and how she finds inspiration for her work. She shares how she spends her typical day as her own boss, why you should acknowledge stress and how she got into teaching online card classes. We also chat about examining the icky feeling we can sometimes feel while scrolling through our social media feeds and creating the social media world we desire.

About Kristina:
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design, Kristina Werner started her graphic design career at papercrafting company Stampin’ Up! She initially designed their catalog. It was during this time that she discovered the wonderful and creative outlet of stamping, scrapbooking and cardmaking. Since finding her love of all things papercrating related, she has designed product for Stampin’ Up!, BasicGrey, and her own digital kits.
She began her popular blog, K Werner Design, in 2006 to share her cards and pages online with friends and family. This led to joining various design teams. She has also had numerous cards and pages published in magazines.
Kristina is well-known for her popular card videos where she walks viewers through the creation of a handmade card. Her popular YouTube videos have been watched over 37 million times, and her YouTube channel has over 400,000 subscribers who view her videos weekly.
On top of maintaining an active blog and YouTube channel, Kristina also designs stamps and dies for Simon Says Stamp, and stamps for the Simon monthly card kit. In June 2011, Kristina and fellow-cardmaker Jennifer McGuire founded an online education site specifically for cardmakers called Online Card Classes. Years later, Kristina and Jennifer continue to team-teach classes at OCC.
A tech geek to the core, Kristina can never be seen too far from her iPhone and computer. She also loves calligraphy, reading, and watching her “guilty-pleasure” reality TV shows. She resides in the Salt Lake City, Utah area with her two cats Daphne and Sophie.
