He has served on the boards of the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Ambulatory Surgery Center, The Children's Helthcare Network, and Georgia Pediatric Subspecialists. He currently is involved in the exploratory committee to organize a city wide Pediatric ACO in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Scherz has been the Medicaid reviewer for Pediatric Urology since 1996. He has been named as one of the top physicians by Atlanta Magazine, every year since 2005. In May of 2009, Dr. Scherz founded the physician group, Docs 4 Patient Care, which has subsequently become one of the most prominent physician groups in championing sensible healthcare reform. He was a featured speaker on a healthcare panel at CPAC in 2010. He has had 2 Wall Street Journal opinion pieces published in 2010 and others featured in Real Clear Politics and other online publications.
