021: Maintaining Your Habits During Vacation & Summer Travel

Today’s episode is all about how to prepare for maintaining your great habits before, during, and after your vacation! Vacations are for rest and relaxation, but it’s also important to maintain your favorite habits so you can be fully present, engaged, and happy for your trip. I will show you exactly how to do this in the episode!

Some key learnings are on how prepare for maintaining your habits before, during, and after your vacation are:

  • When you're getting ready to go on vacation, decide which of your daily habits are your non-negotiables. Another way to look at this is: which habits create a positive ripple effect on your day? Recognize it might not be possible to recreate your entire morning or evening routine on vacation, but you can prioritize the habits that make the biggest impact.
  • Don’t feel guilty for prioritizing your habits and taking time for yourself on vacation, even if it means spending a little time away from friends and family you might be visiting. This is easier said than done, but I have a little pep talk in the episode for ya!
  • When you return from vacation, know it might take a few days and up to a week to get back into your normal routine, and that’s totally okay! Preparing for that re-acclimation time will help you give yourself grace as you ease back into your everyday routines.
