Building A Winning Team

Sid Krommenhoek knows first hand how powerful it is to begin with building a winning team.  He has taken a startup from inception to marketing leader--across the US and China--to IPO, but it is not something he did on his own.

By carefully building a solid team filled with members who are competent, hard working, and passion driven, he has accomplished more than many entrepreneurs only dream of.

Join today's episode to learn how Sid's journey took shape and to gain insight on building a winning team.

Sid SAID:

"You have to have that why in what you're doing."

"[Find] remarkable people to join [your] team."

"Good ideas have founders. . . great businesses have founders who have brought on finishers to that team."

"Sometimes the founders are the finishers. . ."

"[Every team needs] true finishers."

"When you. . . couple that obsession--where you are going to sweat and hustle and scramble as much as you need to because there is a problem so important to you---with that obsession to build an answer and a solution . . . that is fit for a king, but available to the common man."

"[You need team members who] are equally bought in and properly competent to build that beautiful thing."

BIOGRAPHY

Managing Partner of Peak Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm founded in 2014. My M.O. is simple- startup is hard and life is short, so let's be authentic in working with people we enjoy (even if we don't always agree) and on problems that are worth solving. My approach has context from ventures I've been a part of and in the people who I've worked alongside, both as a startup founder and investor. (Linkedin)

FINAL THOUGHTS ON BUILDING A WINNING TEAM

  • You can't trust everyone but you better be able to trust the ones you get in the boat with.
  • If it's going to work--and you have to believe it is--there has to be massive trust and support within your team, both in the rocky times as well as in the good times.
