This is People’s Choice Week Vol. 3, but more notably the first episode in a new series we’ve started where we watch films from 1999 - one of, arguably, the greatest years of cinema. We kicked things off with a poll across all our socials of 8 films that neither of us had seen and the two that were clearly at the top of everyone’s wishlist were ‘Being John Malkovich’ (1999) and ‘Cruel Intentions’ (1999). This week we explore the metaphysical, the metaphorical and the metaphrased bastardised French pronunciation of Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. Oh, and seamlessly (you’ll never notice) Patrick moves house in the middle of the episode with Emma’s assistance. You’ll be hearing about it forever, don’t worry.
