Labyrinth: an incredible music event in Japan focuses purely on very specific forms of Techno. I’d always had a hit or miss relationship with the genre, but Labyrinth absolutely inspired me and this is what I recorded the moment I got home. It starts in a fairly traditional Tech House sound but rapidly moves into what I like to call “Bouncetek” – a blend of House and Techno that leans further to the Techno side than Tech House. After that it ramps up into Deep Techno and peaks in the kind of almost organic sounding Bangin Techno that is played in the evenings at Labyrinth. This set also holds significance in that it’s the first episode performed on my current much larger rig.
