Have you ever tried Googling “why empaths have great relationships”?

I have. And when I did my heart sank. 

It took scrolling almost all the way down the first page of Google to find a single article that wasn’t “why empaths struggle in relationships” or “what you need to know before dating an empath”.

I wanted to scream at my computer, “REALLY?!?”

There’s a common belief that empaths attract narcissists and are prone to toxic romantic relationships. And that our sensitivity and empathy makes it harder for us to have close, connected relationships. 

Where did this belief come from? 

And which one is true -- as an empath can you have great relationships or are you doomed to have a crappy love life? 

What about all the “good ones”... are they all already taken?
