Elementary particles aside, why do we feel it is bad to be called a "nerd"? Is it because society wants to draw everyone in? Is it because misery loves company? Why is being introverted bad? Why is being extroverted better? This obsession with others and the external is what feeds this "need" for being seen in present times. People want to know what other people think about them (as long as it isn't negative). This is fickle, shallow and superficial. Is not focusing or concentrating on oneself and one's own interests more important for knowing oneself better? Or is it better to have a fake reflection shown back to us from the mirror that is this broken down machine we once called society?
