Justin and Muenfua’s Why:
By Design was born out of the realization that there were no platform for creatives of color to get their ideas out and find opportunities to grow as creatives and entrepreneurs. They feel it’s their duty and obligation to help others. 

Three tips for starting a movement:

1. Be intentional: You as an entrepreneur have a responsibility and obligation to act on the voids you see in the market or in your community, and tell the stories important to your audience. 
2. Be a confident disruptor: Use a set of values you believe in to go against the grain. Connect your brand to those core values, and stick by them, even when it’s hard. 
3. Be resilient: When you’re going through the path less traveled, you’re going to experience some bumps in the road that other people haven’t encountered. Trust in the people you put around yourself and the processes you put in place.
