Dr Athol Steward has a strong voice in the fight against the proposed seabed mining off the coast of Taranaki which has been documented in a recently released film called Making Waves.

Athol is also an emergency doctor in Whanganui.  

He walked the coast from Raglan to Whanganui and completed an ocean swim over the proposed mine to raise money and awareness.
