Traveling is difficult, both mentally and physically. Your habits on the road can sometimes become the opposite of what you do at home. However, on this episode of Leading the Factory Forward, I have some ideas for how you can improve your life on the road with some careful planning.
Bryan Paul Buckley is a friend of mine and the author of Elite Road Warrior. In this book, he focuses on improving life on the road for constant business travelers. As a high performer and a hard charger, he had run himself into the ground. So, he began a project to not only be successful on the road but to also be healthy. In his book, he presents six habits to incorporate into travel to keep both physical and mental energy high while traveling.
In today’s episode, I explore the need to have a plan for success while traveling. I also share Bryan Paul Buckley’s six habits and examples of how to incorporate those habits while traveling. The most important thing when trying to create new habits is to get started, and we will go over some ways you can begin to work these habits into your life.
We’ll dive deeper into these concepts:
This week I encourage you to give the stand habit a try and see how much standing and walking you can fit into your next trip. Another thing to try this week is to make your first meal a healthy one, as Bryan Paul Buckley says, “Clean and Green.” Speaking of Bryan, his blog post “Seven Things that Bryan Does on Every Flight,” is a must-read. In our next series, we will be planning for 2020 and reflecting on 2019.
