Flipping a Harden Furniture Custom Made Sophisticated Striped Accent Chair and making $270 in 45 minutes
Flipping Ninja Deep Dive"A Valuable Flip"
This was a solid and profitable flip.
This chair had just came out onto the floor at Salvation Army, and it immediately caught my eye. It hadn't even been priced yet -- so I asked the folks there to price it so I can buy it! Pretty much everyone at every thrift store knows me and always hooks it up, because I buy so much quantity and always clear out their floors, lol. As soon as it was priced, I purchased it. Just $30 bucks!
Flipping furniture has always been one of my favorite things to flip -- and there's a good reason why. They're cheap at thrift stores, and you can sell them for A LOT. The key is to stage them and create a powerful picture in people's minds; both visually and by your words that you use in your ad description.
This involves researching the item itself, AND its brand. In this case, it was by a company called Harden Furniture, and their chairs easily go for $600+ new. Crazy, huh? So the key in flipping this chair at a $300 price point was to really make sure you are communicating that in your ad description. I let people know, look, this chair isn't your basic run of the mill chair. Not only is it by a higher end brand, but it's built solidly, and definitely has a unique and interesting look.
Lessons Learned?
Time Spent?
I only spent about 10-15 minutes at the thrift store when I saw this and bought it.Took it home, took pics, enhanced them, crafted a solid ad description, and posted it on all selling channels: ~30 minutesSold in less than a week.
I earned $270 in about 45 minutes.Overall Rating:
Rating Criteria
Profit: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'd spend 45 minutes making $270 any day of the week! Solid flip, profit-wise.
Transport:⭐⭐⭐⭐ I thought about giving this 5 stars, because I have an SUV and it was pretty easy transporting it. Not too heavy and was definitely manageable. But… it's still something that had to be lifted, put into the SUV, taken out, taken inside, navigated through the door, and so forth. But I'm being critical -- wasn't a big deal at all. However, if you don't have an SUV, you would have to figure something out or pass on it.
Time Spent: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Was fast. Hit up a thrift store, in and out in 15 minutes. Took it home, took pics, crafted an ad, posted. All done in less than an hour. 5 stars.
OVERALL: 4.6/5
Overall I'd give it a 4.6/5 considering these factors:
