In this episode I am joined by GP, lifestyle medicine physician, podcaster, author and mother Dr. Alka Patel! Alka has been a medical doctor for over 20 years. Her own experience with burnout led her to a hospital bed. It was at this time that she realised that prioritising her own health was the most important thing she could do to help her career flourish. She also came to the conclusion that the medical profession was heading in the wrong direction. There was an over reliance of medication, and often this would not be the answer to our health problems. She discovered lifestyle medicine and has used in a practical and sustainable way.
Through her own research she created the Lifestyle First Method ® which is a scientifically proven approach to optimal health.
In this episode we talk about her definition of lifestyle medicine, finding our purpose in life and the key components of behaviour change.
