The Coming Out Chronicles

029: Having to Choose Vocation or Identity with June Joplin

Listen Later

After returning home from church camp one year, June Joplin realized two of her greatest desires: to be a pastor and to be a woman. Years later, she finally came out to her baptist congregation as trans, which ultimately resulted in being fired from her position. Recounting the events that both led up to her coming out and the consequences she faced after, June shares her journey of self-acceptance and staying true to her identity.

02:50: Coming out as trans
07:00: The wrong side of the island
