Alice Airoldi: I need help planning my 2-day trip to Rome at the end of the month where I plan to meet up with some filmmakers I have met before and possibly meet new ones. I want to make the most out of it while also being aware of the cultural differences (Romans tend to plan things last minute so I have been met with some "hit me up when we get closer to the date" already).

• Get clear on your approach (peer, expert, mentor, advocate or gatekeeper) before every interaction so you know whose goals and obstacles you are serving and how you show up in that moment.
• When using the expert approach, make sure that you are the hero of the story, with them as your guide that can help you with your goals and obstacles.
• Provide value that will genuinely allow the person to be useful to you.
• Be clear on telling where you are now, where you want to go next, and what is stopping you.
• Share your very specific goals and obstacles so they can point you to the right people where it will be mutually beneficial to the three parties.
