Qiqi Wu: I hope to know how I can better prepare for my upcoming interview for a PA position.
- Shift your mindset early. What you do matters less than who you do it with. Use this role to get proximity, exposure, and real insight into how teams actually collaborate.
- Prepare for character-based hiring. Show you are organized, reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented. Prove you can anticipate needs and follow through without being told twice.
- Redefine “basic tasks” as value creation. Ordering lunch becomes delivering precision, timing, and awareness so the team stays in flow without interruption.
- Open strong with intention. Replace “tell me about yourself” with why you are excited about this role and how you can solve their problems immediately.
- When asked, “tell me about yourself,” answer it with this question in mind: “why are you excited to work with us, and how can you be valuable to us?”
- Take control of the conversation. Ask what concerns they have about hiring the right PA and position yourself as the solution to those specific concerns.
