Emeritus Professor Joe Camilleri OAM is quite honestly one of the most fascinating people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We begin the conversation right at the very beginning with his childhood, with Joe sharing his story of growing up in Alexandria in Egypt and his love affair with cake shops. The conversation moves through his life journey including a time where he was part of a team negotiating peace between the Catholic and Protestant communities during the Northern Ireland conflicts in the 1970s. Joe is truly one of a kind, his expertise in facilitating dialogue can be seen with his many achievements throughout his life including the honour of the Order of Australian Medal for his services to the community and to International Relations as scholar, educator and advocate. We focus on the essence of dialogue and what it takes, there is so much we can all learn from understanding the core principles of effective dialogue. Joseph Camilleri is currently the managing director of Alexandria Agenda, Emeritus Professor at La Trobe University in Melbourne, and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences. He has written 25 books and some 100 book chapters and journal articles. There is so much we can all learn from understanding the core principles of effective dialogue, sit back and enjoy the show.
