Writing fair tests is so hard, in fact, I think that writing a fair test is an art. There is a lot of stress in writing a test, especially as your students are preparing for high stakes testing. I have compiled 7 tips that have helped me to make sure the tests I give my students are fair: 

1. No surprises!
2. Too many easy or challenging questions
3. Too many or too few questions
4. Having multiple correct ansers
5. Indirect questions that are too open-ended
6. double jeopardy
7. Worth too many or too few points
