#030: Reclaiming Joy in Movement and Exercise

Both Hannah and Holly used to have unsustainable exercise routines. The intensity, lack of flexibility, and motivation behind each gym session were making us feel worse, not better like we thought they were. Now, we try to approach movement from a more mindful and holistic perspective. Not sure how to do that? We share the process it took to break down the negative messages we get from the fitness industry and replace them with our own needs instead.

Are you dragging yourself through workouts you don’t enjoy, giving yourself rules like “you will workout x times per week,” or afraid to tone down the intensity of your regimen because you’re not sure what will happen? If so, or if you have another type of unhappy relationship with exercise, this episode is for you. We talk about how to stop chasing exercise intensity that will change your body and instead use movement as something mindful and intuitive.
