In this Episode Red and Jake talk about John M. Allegro’s book “The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross. With his studies and translations of the dead sea scrolls, Allegro tells a very different story of the origins of Christianity. He argues that the religion is actually founded on fertility and psychedelic mushroom cults that hid their practices in allegories to hide them from the Romans and that are now taken at only face value today, loosing their original sacred meaning.
