Charles is a U.C. Berkeley trained ecologist, conservation filmmaker, and ecosystem brand strategy consultant working with industry leading brands from GORE to Hipcamp and Norrøna. He's an Explorers Club Fellow, host of a new podcast, Traverse, alongside co-host, Chris Burkard, and is the co-founder of The Nature Project—a non-profit organization committed to connecting underserved youth with nature and professional athlete mentors.

Over the years, he has also become known for being outspoken about wildlife issues, climate activism and ecological stewardship, topics regularly published on his social media channel where he brings audiences along to some of the planet's most wild places.

Charles is based in the Lofoten Islands of Norway, located at 68 degrees North, high above the arctic circle. He lives in a red cabin with his wife, Rachel Pohl, their samoyed, Knute, and cat, Hannah.
