The quick fire round
Morning: I used to have a huge elaborate morning practice and I loved it. I did yoga and I wrote and I meditated. But not anymore! I received a five minute gratitude journal last year, so that’s my routine. I wake up and I take 2-5 minutes to write down a few things I’m grateful for, and some things I want for my son and myself.
Practices
Spirituality: Being here with one breath and dropping into my body.
Creativity: Writing - for my blog, for myself.
Relationships: Listening is the most important thing, having an open ear for people.
Resources
Book: Pack Up the Moon by Anna McPartlin
Song: Mirrors by Justin Timberlake
Parting message
Once, after I’d said “I have to work on myself”, a woman said, “No no no, you don’t have to ‘work’ on yourself, you just have a lot of LOVING to do on yourself.”
Working on yourself can sound so harsh, but if all you have to do is remove the layers of fear and doubt and come to a place of loving yourself.
So don’t “work on yourself.” Just love yourself.
