Elections. They are the cornerstone of any democracy. Election Day is the time when we, collectively, commit to affirm, create or destroy the course of a nation — all the in name of progress. At least, that's how the story goes. But this past Tuesday, the United States had their midterm elections with an abysmal voter turnout percentage. Many, it seems, simply didn't care enough to cast a ballot. At the same time, narratives across news channels geared up for typical all-night coverage, as though the fate of the free world hung in the balance.
