Dr Brian A. Sharpless is a licensed psychologist and author with interests in unusual psychological disorders, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and the history and philosophy of clinical psychology. He received a PhD in clinical psychology and MA in philosophy from Pennsylvania State University and completed post-doctoral clinical and research fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to his three books with Oxford University Press, he has published over 40 journal articles and chapters. He also maintains a clinical practice in the greater Washington, DC area (i.e., Maryland and northern Virginia) and is a frequent lecturer.
