Samantha Lavin: This is kind of a continuation of the last hot seat re: prioritizing and never feeling like I’m accomplishing my creative goals.
- Turn your vision into a concrete milestone over the next year or two, such that it gets you closer to having financial stability and making things that you love.
- Have more specific goals (minimum viable product) that you can check that will define the success of your broader goal of launching a business.
- Set boundaries by protecting what is essential to your goal and treating everything else as either an opportunity or a distraction.
- Focus on who you are working with over what you are doing, and explore new paths without labeling them as deviations, and test whether they are actually the path forward.
- Use open ended questions during the interview for them to tell the truth rather than telling what you want to hear, so you can evaluate if the opportunity aligns with your path without revealing your preference.
