There has been pressure on universities in the UK to make sure they are transparent about the nature of their courses starting in September. Currently, many classes are given online due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, but with the quality of such lessons depending on the teacher’s proficiency with technology, support needs to be put in place by the new academic year.

イギリスの大学では9月の新学期に向けて透明性を確保するべく圧力がかかっています。現在、新型肺炎の蔓延により授業の多くがオンラインで行われていますが、授業の質は講師のテクノロジーに対する技量に左右されるため、新学期までに支援策を敷く必要があるというものです。

The Chief Executive of the Office for Students, a regulatory body in the UK, expressed that while no one knows what might happen up until autumn as the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the educational institutes should be as clear as possible about whether their lessons will be delivered online or face-to-face, so students are able to understand what exactly is on offer.

イギリスの規制機関「Office for Students」の最高経営責任者によると新型コロナ蔓延が継続するなか、秋までに事態がどうなっていくか誰にも分からず、研究機関は授業がオンラインで行われるのか対面で行われるのか、具体的にどのように授業が行われるのか学生たちが理解できるように明らかにするべきであると話しています。
