The Problem With Lying

 

How do you think God feels about lying?

 

22 Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.

Proverbs 12:22

 

21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

Ephesians 4:21-25

 

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

What is the devil's plan?

Satan wants to get you to lie.

Satan wants to get you to lie to yourself.

Satan wants to get you to live a lie

 

4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 2:4

 

The root reason most of us lie is because we don't completely trust God.

 

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:32

 

What is God’s plan?

We confess to God for forgiveness, and we confess to people for healing.

 

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9
